Supporting the Whole Student: Mental Health in K12

Originally Aired: Thursday, October 7th

Health and safety is the #1 concern in schools this year - and mental health is a big part of that. As students return to school, they are coping with nearly two years of instability due to the pandemic, compounding the negative impact on their mental health. 29% of parents say their child is "already experiencing harm" to their emotional or mental health because of school mandates resulting from the pandemic. Another 14% of parents say that their children are approaching their limits (Gallup poll). It’s clear that we must support and protect our students’ and staff mental health at all costs.

The Kinsa FLUency community has been asking for more information on approaching mental health in schools, and we’re here to support you in any way we can. Join us for an in-depth conversation with two experts on mental health from the Jed Foundation, the nation’s largest nonprofit organization for suicide prevention and mental health in young adults, and two incredibly dedicated school administrators who are dealing with the impact of the pandemic firsthand.
